"Quiet Town" by The Ground is a conceptual experimental rock album. The musical story is based on a character named Andy whose life rapidly changes as he enters a life of drugs. The journey is a strange one for sure. You'll hear twisted blues elements combined with atmospheric sounds and dreamy female vocals. The arrangements push the envelope when it comes to bizarre. They are truly unique and creative. Highlights are the opener "Heart on Fire" with it's offbeat bluesy guitar riff, haunting vocals and overall tripping atmosphere. The title track "Quiet Town" has a nice vocal melody amidst a mish-mash of sounds. "Look at Life" wraps things up nicely with a bubbly beat and airy synths. If you enjoy experimental and unusual music or are tired of mainstream music, give this one a try.
